The Port Macquarie Observatory is located in the heart of Port Macquarie and is situated close to Sandcastles Luxury Beachfront Apartments. Whether you are staying at Port Macquarie overnight or for a few days, The Port Macquarie Observatory is a must see attraction.

The Observatory is a fun activity for all ages and is well known by the locals. Albert York a builder & architect was asked to draw up plans for an observatory in Port Macquarie. The local council approved the plans and the observatory was completed in 1962.

The Observatory is the home of the Port Macquarie Astronomical Association an active group of about 60 members. Over the past few years equipment has been upgraded including high tech video & audio equipment.

The Observatory is open on Sunday C Wednesday nights and presentations start from 7:30pm.

An entertaining presentation takes you for a tour of the night sky with magnificent images of astronomical objects.

Admission Adults $8, Concession $7, Children $5, Families (2 Adults 2 Children) $22
Children under 5 years of age are free.
